Emoji Meaning

A silver paper clip, as used to hold together sheets of paper—or remove a SIM card from a mobile phone. Shown positioned at various angles.

Occasionally used to represent school/office supplies. Also sometimes used as an icon before a hyperlink. Displays as Microsoft mascot Clippy on Windows 11.

Not to be confused with 🔗 Link, 🖇️ Linked Paperclips, ⛓️ Chains, or 🧷 Safety Pin.

Paperclip was approved as part of Unicode 6.0 in 2010 and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015.
