Twitter Twemoji 12.1.4

  • Vendor: Twitter
  • Version: Twemoji 12.1.4
  • Release Date: Nov. 6, 2019
  • Emojis: 3077

An update to Twemoji began rolling out to users on 2019-11-06 and was added to the open source repository on 2019-11-13. This release gave a gender-inclusive appearance to most human emojis when a gender isn't specified.

Note: this did not add support for additional gender-neutral sequences approved in Emoji 12.1 - instead it changed the appearance of existing neutral emojis.

Discord updated its emoji support to Twemoji 12.1.4 in November 2019, in the first emoji update on the platform since 2016.

About Twitter Emojis

Twitter supports all standard emojis, and these can be inserted via emoji keyboard or picker. Emojis can also be copied and pasted by choosing from the emojis on this page.

Twemoji is an open source emoji project, created and owned by Twitter. Emojis from Twemoji are found on the website, TweetDeck, Twitter for Android, Discord, Roblox and other apps. The native Twitter app for iOS uses native emojis provided by Apple.

Custom Twitter emojis (previously known as hashflags) are enabled for some events or promotions. These display on Twitter for a limited time, after specific hashtags.

While most emojis can be used in Twitter names, any emoji which resembles the verified checkmark is not permitted. See the list of emojis not permitted in Twitter names or bios.
